Anvil Rising - The Official Website Anvil Rising came to life in early 2009, forged of the remnants of the medieval death metal band Dubhdroiacht, which was founded in 2002 and put to rest in 2007. Inbetween the end of Dubhdroiacht and the beginning of Anvil Rising, singer St. Florian, drummer Buchser-Jones and bass player Gore Al kept on rocking and tried to find suitable guitar players. During that period, several potential new members joined and left the band. These ongoing rearrangements led to a significant change in music style - from a folky medieval death metal bagpipe sound to thrashy melodic black death metal. When Dehuu joined the band in early 2009, he perfectly filled the gap in the lineup. In this formation the band had its debut at a party in Bad Säckingen in the summer of the same year.
